Since I'm in the middle of quilting and really have nothing new to show, I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of my favorite quilt from the Aurora Colony quilt show last October.
Something about this quilt just calls my name.
Here's a close up.
I have the orange, red, and background fabrics. I still have to find the green. I'm thinking of using something from my homespun box but I haven't given up on finding something close to the original. I also have to decide on a size and draft it. But first, I have to finish the project I'm quilting.
This is a beautiful quilt. Are the cheddar centers appliqued or pieced?
ReplyDeleteGreat border too. Is the green a plaid?
Thank you for sharing this beautiful quilt! It looks like the cheddar centers are appliqued...?
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I join you in making this one? I just can't resist that cheery Cheddar!
Ulla, you're on no reply so I can't answer you personally. Thank you for the very nice comment! I agree - it's so wonderful to be able to see what people in other places are making. When I first started quilting, there's no way I could have imagined this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt wow! I can see why you want to make it. Please share your progress with us. Thanks kathie

The quilt is beautiful. It's got to be the cheddar that attracted you to it, such a wonderful colour.
ReplyDeleteOh, be still my heart. I loved that one too. I can hardly wait to see how you do your version. Do you remember the name of it at the quilt show?
ReplyDeleteI just love these beautiful old applique quilts! Good luck with your drafting and I look forward to seeing your version of this beauty!
